Kaleva is an uncommitted newspaper, as most of the newspapers in Finland. That means that any political, financial or other movements don't confine its function. Kaleva's full-time editorial staff is situated in Oulu, but it has many smaller editorial offices all around Finland. In Oulu region Kaleva is the most important newspaper, but is also important in many smaller areas in northern Finland, although they usually have also their own localpapers. In Finland there's three more important newspapers than Kaleva. Its circulation is 84 106 copies and it has 232 000 readers everyday. Kaleva is published by Kaleva Kustannus Oy, which gives a job for over 400 people. It's the only newspaper in Finland that publishes articles from french newspaper Le Monde. Kaleva is well-known as a supporter of art, cinema, sport and nature.
